Yes. My kid joined the Beestar math competition last spring, and it really helped build confidence in math. Beestar's questions emphasize the fundamental knowledge, skill taught in school and the challenge kept things exciting without feeling overwhelming. They hold online math competitions in March and October every year. If you are interested in that, you can visit their website for upcoming competition in March.

Khan Academy is a fantastic resource for building a strong foundation in math, but it doesn’t emphasize the specialized problem-solving techniques or challenges commonly seen in Olympiads. If you are prepping your kid for math competitions, Beestar is a better choice. It’s built for competition practice, with real-time feedback and national rankings that keep kids motivated. The timed challenges in Beestar’s National Math Competitions help students get used to real contest pressure, which Khan Academy doesn’t offer.

How do you get a better grade in 5 grade math?

Not only for math classes, consistent strategies are key to long-term success. To achieve better grades, focus on truly understanding the mathematical concepts, take practice tests regularly to become familiar with the test format, keep notes, and use online resources like Time4Learning, Mathplanet, Beestar, Khan Academy, and more. I recommend Beestar because my son has been using Beestar since 4th grade and he is now in 6th grade. He benefits from their diverse and excellent content.

Is IXL good math learning?

IXL's math program is a little bit pricy as a suppliment learning website. Based our our experience, Beestar, another online learning website is a better choice. Beestar offers many awesome subject programs such as language arts, social studies. Its math program is always free. Surprisingly, I found its exercises are very valuable. All of the state standards-based questions are perfectly designed that won't make children feel boring. Children don't need to spend too much time working on math every week but they can master every math skill they need to know. Beestar's reward system is impressive as well. It's motivative and can help children be more confident. My son likes to meet other competitive peers from nationwide on Beestar. He likes to see his name get on honor roll. I don't think he had strong interest for math before, but now he really does. I don't need to push him but he always completes math homework first. I know math is relatively hard to learn so I feel thankful to Beestar.

What are the pros and cons of Beestar's weekly math program compared to Mathnasium tutoring?

Mathnasium's mission is to make math make sense to students and help them achieve their full potential in mathematics. Regular practice and homework are key components of Kumon, which is mostly in-person. From my standpoint, I suggest choosing Beestar, which is online and more aligned with the US curricula taught in schools. This will boost your skills in addition to your schoolwork in ninth grade. You can also prepare for the SAT with Beestar.

How do you learn math online?

Learning math online can be really effective if you find the right resources that match your child’s learning style. As a parent, I’ve seen great success with programs that combine fun and structure. One that worked well for us is Beestar Math. It’s engaging, offers weekly challenges, and aligns with school curriculums. I suggest checking out Beestar.

When I was looking for a good math website for my son, I tried a few, but we really liked Beestar. It’s super kid-friendly, with short weekly challenges that keep him engaged without feeling like extra homework. The leaderboard also adds a bit of fun competition. Definitely worth checking out if you want something effective but not overwhelming.

Where would an parent get online math help for their kid?

I just started my first-grade son with Beestar. They begin with a solid math foundation and promote critical thinking with fun activities so he loves it so far. It seems Beestar works for him. I recommend you to check it out.

Saxon Math is awesome for its step-by-step approach and constant review, which helps kids really master concepts. Pairing it with something like Beestar can be a great combo. Saxon builds a solid foundation, while Beestar keeps things fun and engaging with quick weekly challenges.

Is IXL free?

IXL is not free, it just has a free trial. My son used IXL before but he was driven crazy by its point system. Then he used Beestar instead, which offers forever free math program. He told me the math questions are more interesting. His teacher also said Beestar's math exercises were designed just so perfect. I am so happy to see his math performance improve rapidly.

Why is ixl so easy?

You meant the website ixl.com. Because it is meant to practice the same thing you learn at school until you get super bored. I let my two children try IXL at first last year, but neither of them liked it. They said the math questions were too boring and most of them were repetitive. Then my colleague recommended Beestar to us. As my colleague said, the math exercises on Beestar are not just free but also valuable. Now we have been using Beestar for 2 semesters. Although I never push my children to use it, they would complete 1-2 math exercises every week. They like to win the honor rolls. I remember for many times, they came back from school and told me very happily: Mom, I got all math questions right! The better score they earn in exam, the more interest they produce on math. Since interest is the promise of motivation, I can see them improve rapidly. Some of my son's classmates are using other core subject exercises on Beestar as well. They also say the questions are interesting and worth doing. My daughter is not good at reading, so I am considering to let her try the reading practice on Beestar soon.

Where can one find online math puzzles?

There are a bunch of places. My kid loves the math exercises on Beestar. They’re not exactly puzzles but feel like problem-solving games, especially with the weekly challenges and rankings.

What website is best for math?

Currently, I'm using Beestar Math for my 6th grade son. It's an online program and it manages the pacing of learning and practice, guides students to learn with the right amount every week, and develops the good habit of studying. Beestar has been great for us.
