No. The factors of 6 are 2 and 3, so in order for a number to be divisible by 6, it must be divisible by 3 and divisible by 2. This can be checked without actually doing the division.

890 is divisible by 2, since the last digit is either {0,2,4,6 or 8} (zero in this case)

To check for divisibility by 3, add the digits and if the sum is divisible by 3, then the number is divisible by 3: 8 + 9 + 0 = 17. If you don't know if this sum is divisible by 3, then you can just keep adding until you get a single digit number: 1 + 7 = 8.

The only single digit numbers which are divisible by 3 are {3, 6 & 9 }

So 890 is not divisible by 3, therefore it is not divisible by 6. The whole process can be done in a few seconds in your head, with practice.
