you would need some more information. If you knew the ratios of the base and height then you would be able to solve.

for example if we knew that this was an isosles triangle (base=height)

then we could write both sides in terms of x.

then we plug into our area formula (1/2)b*h

we know that (1/2)b*h=22

and b=x

and h=x

so we have (1/2)x^2=22

multiply by 2 to get rid of the coefficent

so we have x^2=44

take sqr of both sides

x=sqr(44)

simplify

x=2*sqr(11)
