No. For any 3 way switch installation you need 2 "travelers" between switches and these conductors cannot be used for any other purpose. The 3rd wire is used for a neutral or switch leg, depending on the needs of the circuit, but is not connected to both switches. The neutral is not connected to either switch.

If a switch has two throws and switches only one wire is known as a?

What is single pole two way switch?

It provides switching for a single wire. It has one input and one output. When the switch is open (Off) the input is not connected to the output. When it is closed (On) the input is connected to the output.

Wire a three-way switch One light controlled by two switches- similar to a hall ligt. SPDT switches?

yes like a hall light.

What is difference between single pole and double pole switch?

A single pole switch interrupts only one wire, which must be the live wire. A double pole switch interrupts both the live and the neutral, so it contains two separate switches operated by the same lever. Current practice is to use single-pole switches, to avoid a fault condition which could leave equipment live while switched off.

How do you wire one light and one GFCI and another light light and fan with two switches and one power line?

Connect the incoming power to the line side of the GFCi outlet. Now run another wire connected to the line side of the GFCI outlet from the GFCI outlet to the switches. Power one of the switches and use that switch to turn on the 2 lights. Run power from that switch to another switch and use that switch to send power to the fan. Mount both switches in a double pole switch box. If the light above the sink has an outlet on it then you will have to connect power going to that light on the load side of the GFCI outlet. If not then just connect it to the line side.

What does code 3C1 mean for a tajima tmfx2-c?

When this happened on our machine it was a loose wire on one of the start/stop switches

What does a 4 pole contactor do?

It makes and breaks four separate contacts. Think of a switch for example that connects one wire to one wire. A 4 pole contactor is like 4 separate switches going on together.

How do you correctly wire a switch to a bathroom fan light combo you have 1 w b g coming from your breaker box you also have 2 w b g wires one that controls the fan and one that controls the light?

Tie all White wires together. Tie the Grounds together and connect them to the ground screw on two switches. Create a pigtail with TWO black wires coming out. Connect a black wire to each of the two switches. (you pick which screw, but be consistent. Connect the black wire from the light to the remaining screw on one of the switches. Connect the black wire from the fan to the remaining screw on the OTHER switch.

Murray mower will crack if you cross it out at solenoid. Wont crank with switch. Any suggestions on this problem. I am thinking bad solenoid or one of the safety switches. How can you check them?

ck at the solenoid white wire should read 12 volts. If not one of the safety switches are open.

How do you wire 3 lights with 3 individual swithes from one junction box?

Power coming into the box powering all 3 switches. A 12/2 or 14/2 wire going to each light from each switch depending on the size power wire you are using. They must be the same size wire. All the whites tied together and pushed back in the box. All the grounds tied together with a long jumper wire going to the ground screw of each switch. The black power wire connected to all three switches (bottom screw) with a long jumper wire. The black wires from each light connected to the 3 individual switches (top screw).

Can you use 14-2 wire to operate a ceiling fan using two switches one for the fan the other for the lights?

On these types of installations an electrician would use a three wire cable set from the switch box to the fixture's junction box. At the fixture's junction box both the fan neutral and the light neutral would be wire nutted together with the incoming neutral from the switch boxes. From the three wire, the white wire would go to the fan and light's neutral wires. The Black would come from the bottom of one of the switches and go to the fan's motor lead. The red wire would come from the bottom of the other switch and go to the light fixture's lead. It can be done with two runs of two wire to the fixture. You will need a two gang switch box for this project to hold the two separate switches. You could use a single gang light switch box if you can still find where duplex switches being sold. A duplex switch is one that has the configuration of a duplex receptacle with the switches being one on top of the other. The cover plate is the same one used for duplex receptacles. To answer this question fully more information is needed. See discuss in the left margin.
