The exact stopping distance will depend on your response times as well as the road condition, the mass of your vehicle (its momentum), the condition of your tyres and brakes.
The official distance, quoted in the UK, for 50 mph is 53 metres (175 feet). The distance for 55 mph is approx 65 metres = nearly 215 feet.
But, of course, you could stop in 0 feet if you drive into a brick wall!
At 20 miles per hour it takes about 60 feet to stop on wet pavement. At sixty miles per hour it takes at least 300 feet to stop.
Most cars can stop from 60 mph in about 100 feet or so. If the relationship is linear then a car should stop from 30 mph in about 50 feet.
If there is constant acceleration and deceleration then it would be 33.3 ft to stop
Stopping Distance = about 56.25 feet.
