Divide the subject amount of millimeters by 10. (eg 109mm/10 = 10.9cm) International measurements use the base of 10, and the nomenclature derives from old greek and latin.
1 meter = 10 decimeter = 100 centimeter = 1000 millimeter, etc.
So, the solution above is of course right. But now, at least I hope so, you're able to see the logic behind it... deci (latin abbreviation for "of ten", centi "of hundred", milli "of thousand", etc.). The general dimension is the meter, all others are derivations of it...
