The formula for perimeter varies based on what object you are trying to determine the perimeter for.

If you are looking for the perimeter of a perfect square you simply take the length of one side and multiply it by four.

If you are looking for the perimeter of a rectangle with length (a) and width (b) you would multiple the length (a) by two and the width (b) by two and add them together. Perimeter = 2a + 2b

If you are looking for the perimeter of a rectangle you add up the lengths of all the sides.

To find the perimeter of a circle you multiple the radius by 2pi. pi = 3.14159265

the perimeter = 2 * 3.14159265 * r

Or if you have the diameter of the circle you would just have to multiply the diameter by pi. So, perimeter = 3.14159265 * d

Radius is the length of a line that goes from the middle of a circle to the edge of the circle.

Diameter is the length of a line that goes from one edge of a through the middle to another edge of the circle.

Its P= A+B+c where A, B and C are the sides of the triangle and P = the perimeter

example

side a=12cm, side b=12cm and side c= 20cm

therefore 12+12+20 = (P) 44cm (centimetres)

If it is a regular octagon, all sides are of equal length, so multiply the length of one side by 8 to get the perimeter.

For an irregular octagon add together the length of each of the eight sides to get the perimeter.

for polygons, add up the lengths of all the sides. for circles, multiply the diameter of the circle squared by pi (3.14)

If you double its length and double its width and add those two amounts together you have the perimeter.

That depends on the dimensions !... A 1 x 18 rectangle has a perimeter of 38 ! A 2 x 9 rectangle has a perimeter of 22 ! A 3 x 6 rectangle has a perimeter of 18 !

What is the perimeter of a rectangle if ti's area is 15ft?

The area cannot be 15 feet since that is a measure of length, not area. In any case, information about the area cannot determine the perimeter; it can only put a lower limit on it. The perimeter can be anyhting from 15.49193 ft upwards. Consider the following rectangles, all with area = 15 square feet: a sqrt(15)*sqrt(15) rectangle will have a perimeter of 4*sqrt(15) = 15.49193 ft (approx). 1ft*15ft rectangle will have a perimeter of 32 feet 0.1ft*150ft rectangle: perimeter = 300.2 feet 0.01ft*1500ft rectangle: perimeter = 3000.02 ft 0.001ft*15000ft rectangle: perimeter = 30000.002 ft by now you should see that there is no upper limit to the perimeter.
