They were expensive to manufacture and therefore were an expensive toy. The public did not purchase them in quantities that made them worth manufacturing any more so they stopped producing them. There are large quantities of the Cube World cubes still available and they can be bought quite easily. It is highly likely that surviving toys of this type will be a collectors item in the future.

They stole it. They were sued by Ernő Rubik for patent infringement and they lost. However they got to sell millions of the cube when the cube was selling good. LIke many knock-offs their cube turned better and was considered a better speed cube.
