We have two boxes.
The dimensions of the smaller box are 'L', 'W', and 'H'. (Length, Width, and Height)
Its volume is V1 = (L x W x H).
The dimensions of the larger box are 3L, 3W, and 3H.
Its volume is V2 = (3L x 3W x 3H) = 27 x (L x W x H) = 27 x V1.
V2/V1 = 27.
We just demonstrated that volume is proportional to the cube of the linear dimensions. This is true for any solid.
Doesn't matter. ;)

Most experts will tell you that hiking boots are best for hiking, but some people hate the style or fit of hiking boots. If your heart is set on tennis shoes, go for a sturdy and lightweight tennis shoe that won't give you blisters. Also - try for a color other than white since white will get very dirty while hiking and you may never be able to get the shoe clean.

While tennis shoes are comfortable, a more practical footwear would be a hunting boot. Its possible to find hunting boots that are comfortable as well as practical.
Really, any tennis shoe with good traction should work. However, there is a website that makes hiking boots for children. I have included the link here: www.backcountry.com/.../Kids-Hiking-Boots-and-Shoes.html
Adidas first started making boots in 1977. Adidas wanted to try and solve the problem of their tennis shoes from sliding when people played tennis. So they raised the sides and back of the shoes, making a hightop boot.
anything worn on the foot.....shoes, boots, sandals, tennis shoes, even galoshes. you could include socks and stockings. jewelry doesn't count
Thicker soles protect from larger sharp objects, are more resistant to burning and melting, and act to isolate feet from extreme temperatures. Stand on ice with thick soled boots for an hour; then switch to thin soled boots or tennis shoes and notice the difference. Same idea, just backwards.
The best kind of shoe to wear while riding is a boot with a small heel - about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. If you are riding bareback, or on a saddle without stirrups, You can wear tennis shoes, but the heels on riding boots help prevent your foot getting stuck in the stirrup, in the case of an accident. If you are a serious horseman/horsewoman, you should purchase some paddock boots, or perhaps field boots. For those who compete, the best options are dress boots, field boots, or paddock boots WITH chaps. However, there may be certain rules as to what you can wear.
The next best thing to horse riding specific boots are smooth soled work boots with a low heel. You could also wear 'fashion' style boots so long as they have a 1.5 to 2 inch heel on them. If you can only wear tennis or athletic shoes ask if the person has toe cages or Tapaderos to put on the stirrup irons to keep your foot from going through the iron.
