∙ 14y agoKoi are not aquarium fish. A 50 gallon tank is like a puddle to a Koi and it would be totally unsuitable for just 1 fish. Koi were bred (developed) in Japan to be viewed from above in a pond situation they grow to over 2 feet long and have very broad colourful backs for this purpose. If you wish to keep a coldwater, carp type fish, how about you get Goldfish? You could house up to 4 of those in a 50 gallon tank.
