What is the least count of bevel proctector?

It is 5 mins. Formula : Smallest Division on Main Scale / Number of divisions on Vernier Scale = 1 degree / 12 = 60 mins / 12 = 5 mins.

How do you find radius of cylinder when the main scale reading is 35 division and 4 division of vernier scale coincides with a main scale division?

it sounds like the reading is 35.4 millimetres. all you have to do to find the radius is halve it. 35.4 / 2 = 17.7 millimetres

What does the smallest division on the main scale of the vernier caliper correspond to?

1mm

What do you use vernier scales for?

It is an auxiliary device for making fine adjustment to an instrument, generally by means of a fine screw thread. Used in certain measuring instruments. It is a small moveable scale running next to the main graduated scale which indicates a fractional part of the main scale. An example would be a sextant or barometer

How do you calculate readings of sextant?

first find out least count of main circular scale in degrees, then divide least count of main scale by total divisions on cylindrical scale(this cylindrical scale works as vernier scale for fist one,its least count will be in minutes) then further divide least count of cylindrical scale by total divisions of small vernier scale which touches it,(this small scale works as vernier scale for cylindrical scale and its least count will be in seconds).

Differentiate between main scale reading and vernier scale reading?

main scale is the least accurate reading on the device. the vernier scale uses an offset of divions that only allows one "line" or division to line up with the scale below. This scale is more accurate than the main scale. for example, the main scale may produce an accuracy of 0.125 of and inch plus or minus 0.125 of an inch, whereas the vernier would produce an accuracy of 0.025 of and inch. therefore if two divivions of the main scale and one division of the vernier scale were combined it would prodice and reading of (0.125+0.125+0.025 = 0.275) inches.

What is the least count of vernier and why?

Least count = 1 Main scale division - 1 vernier scale division Why? The story is very interesting. That has been already explianed by me while answering such a question. Please....

What is the least count value of vernier caliper and screw?

How do you read vernier calipers?

We need two readings. One is Main scale reading and the other is vernier scale reading. Main scale reading will be read on the main scale. We need an indicator to read it. Right? The marking ie zero of the vernier is that indicator. So the reading on the main scale which has been just crossed by zero of the vernier is taken as Main scale reading. Now to get VSR, we need vernier scale coincidence. How do we get this? Any one of the divisions of the vernier will be found coincided with some divisions marked on the main scale. We don't worry about that main scale division but we concentrate only on the vernier scale division. This is VSC This VSC is to be multiplied by least count. So VSC x LC gives the VSR Now MSR + VSR gives the accurate reading.

How do you calculate least count of spectrometer?

The value of each main scale divisions is half a degree(30') . The number of vernier scale divisions is 30. 29 main scale divisions are divided into 30 vernier scale divisions (30 VSD = 29 MSD ) Therefore value of 1 VSD = 29/30 MSD. Least Count (L.C.) = 1MSD - 1VSD = 1MSD - 29/30 MSD = 1/30 MSD = 1/30 x 30' (L.C.) = 1' (1 minute)
