First of all, don't assume the issue will come up. It depends a lot on the company and the position. Focus on emphasizing your strengths and skills for the job in other areas, so you'll be the top candidate. If the bankruptcy does come up, give a brief but forthright answer. "I had some medical bills I just couldn't get on top of" or "I made some mistakes the first two years out of college, but I've learned my lesson." (As a hiring manager, I actually hired a store manager who used the second line.) Then shut up, so the interviewer will go on to the next question. Be aware that a few jobs will not be open to you because of your credit history, but many will.
