That happened when he headbutted the wall behind the corner of the end zone in celebration after scoring a 1 yard rushing TD in the second quarter of a game against the New York Giants on November 23, 1997. Frerotte suffered a sprained neck and, while finishing the half, was taken to a hospital for treatment in the third quarter. Jeff Rutledge took over as quarterback.
