As percent is "1/100ths" of something, divide the percentage by 100 (tossing out the percent sign) and you'll have the decimal equivalent. 10% = 10/100 = 1/10 = 0.1 50% = 50/100 = 5/10 = 0.5 87% = 87/100 = 87/100 = 0.87 Piece of cake, and you can handle it.
