AC voltage conversions are usually done with Transformers.

Most commonly, a 3 phase 277/480v system is transformed to a 3 phase 120/208v system. You can, however transform to anything you like with the proper transformer. If you are trying to convert 480v single phase to 240v single phase, such as for home use, then ask for that type transformer. It would use only 2 phases of the 3 phase system. Using 2 phases is called single phase and there are reasons for this that are beyond the scope of this answer.

220v and 110v are field measurements of what is considered 240v and 120v when ordering equipment or applying code.

Appliance suitable for 240 volts, can not be converted to 110 volts. Rather use a step up transformer to convert 110 volts to 240 vac and use the appliance.

How do you produce 120V lines from 240V lines without using a transformer?

220 volt AC current is achieved by having two 110 volt lines with opposite waves or phases. One line will be positive while the other is negative then they flip or alternate 60 times a second (60 hertz). When connecting a volt meter to each of these lines it will read 220volts. Connecting a volt meter from either line to ground will read 110. I don't know if your question is backwards, but in a home you shouldn't have any lines that read 220 volts to ground. In a business or shop there can be 240 volt lines which combined can make 480 for industrial equipment. If your 220 is an older style and only has two hots and a ground (red,black,bare/green) you can't make a 110. If your 220 has 2 hots (red, black), a neutral (white), and a ground (bare/green), you can get 110 from either of the hots (black, red) to neutral (white).

How do you get a 220 volt single phase from 380 volt 3phase synchrounos generator?

220 volt single phase from 480 volt 3 phase that one wire taken one phase and second wire connected in earth point. we get 220 v The above answer is incorrect, one phase from a three phase 480 volt system will give you 277 volts to ground. You must use a transformer to get the voltage you need.

How is electrical energy delivered to the end users?

End users generally subscribe to an electrical service according to their power needs. A residential home, for instance, might have a three-wire, 220-volt, single-phase service rated at between 60 and 200 amps, to a service panel supplying 110-volt and 220-volt branch circuits. A commercial end-user may need three-phase 277/480-volt system supplied on 4 wires, rated for 800 amps overhead or more underground.

What percent of 480 is 110?

It is 100*110/480 = 22.9% approx.

Wiring diagram to convert a 3 phase 480 volt generator to 277 volt?

You should not need a wiring diagram. If the generator has a star point (wye) connection then the phase voltage to ground (star point) is 277 volts. 480/1.73 = 277.

Can you convert a 277 volt ac unit to 230 volt?

There in no quick and inexpensive way of doing this conversion. A transformer would have to be used and this type of winding is not common. 277 volts is the wye voltage of a three phase 480 volt system.
