you change the y to a f and then you change the d to a t.
in other words, yd*(f/y)*(t/d)=ft
You could do that ( I think? :) ), or you could do it the easier way. 1 yd is equal to 3 feet, right? So, to convert yards to feet all you do is multiply the amount of yards you have by 3. For example. If you have 4 yards then you also have 12 feet because 4 x 3 is 12. If you wanted to cahnge the feet back to yards, you divide by 3.
divide the amount of feet by 3.
1 ft= 1/3 of a yard
1yd=3ft

Convert one or the other so that they are the same units. 1 yd = 3 ft, so 4 yd = (4 yd)x(3 ft/yd) = 12 ft.Ratio 4 ft : 4 yd is the same as ratio 4 ft : 12 ft --> simplify to 1 ft : 3 ft --> 1:3You could convert feet to yards also, so that they are the same units. so 4 ft = (4 ft)/(3 ft/yd) = 4/3 yd.Ratio 4 ft : 4 yd is the same as ratio 4/3 yd : 4 yd --> simplify to 1/3 : 1 --> 1:3
(45 ft) / (3 ft per yd) = 15 yards
Since a yard is three feet, a square yard is nine square feet (3x3=9). So you can convert square yards to square feet by multiplying by nine. Algebraic Steps / Dimensional Analysis Formula ____ yd²*9 ft² 1 yd²=? ft²

Yes. convert to the common unit of measurement (e.g. ft to yd) and then multiply length times width.
Convert one or the other so that they are the same units. 1 yd = 3 ft, so 4 yd = (4 yd)x(3 ft/yd) = 12 ft.Ratio 4 ft : 4 yd is the same as ratio 4 ft : 12 ft --> simplify to 1 ft : 3 ft --> 1:3You could convert feet to yards also, so that they are the same units. so 4 ft = (4 ft)/(3 ft/yd) = 4/3 yd.Ratio 4 ft : 4 yd is the same as ratio 4/3 yd : 4 yd --> simplify to 1/3 : 1 --> 1:3

(6 yd3) x (3 ft/yd) x (3 ft/yd) x (3 ft/yd) =(6 yd3) x (27 ft3 / yd3) =162 ft3

You can't: yards measure length and sq feet measure area.However, to convert square yards to square feet:1 yd = 3 ft1 sq y = 1 yd x 1 yd = 3 ft x 3 ft = 9 sq ft→ multiply by 9.→ 5 sq yd = 5 x 9 sq ft = 45 sq ft.
to what? ft²? cm²? km²? yd²?
Known: 1 [yd] = 3 [ft] or 1 = 3 [ft/yd] Also known: 1 [ft] = 12 [in] or 1 = 12 [in/ft] The volume = 70 [ft] * 4 [ft] * 3 [in] = {70 [ft] / 1} * {4 [ft] / 1} * {3 [in] / 1 / 1 } = {70 [ft] / 3 [ft/yd]} * {4 [ft] / 3 [ft/yd]} * {3 [in] / 12 [in/ft] / 3 [ft/yd]} = (70/3) * (4/3) * (1/12) [yd^3] = 2.593 cubic yards =====================================
