There is no equivalence.

A Joule per second is a measure of power which is equivalent to a Watt. Not a Watt per second or a Watt per hour etc, just a Watt. The two units mentioned in the question measure different things (though I am not sure what Watts per hour measures) and, according to basic principles of dimensional analysis, conversion from one to the other is not valid.

How you convert 36watts in joules?

Watts is a unit of power; Joules is a unit of energy. Watts means Joules/second, so you would need to know how long a machine that uses 36 watts (for example, certain light-bulbs) is used.36 watts is simply 36 Joules per second; this is the same as 2160 Joules per minute, or 129,600 Joules per hour.Since the electricity bill is measured in kWh instead of Joule (1 kWh = 3,600,000 Ws = 3,600,000 Joule), you might also say that a device that uses 36 watts uses 0.036 kWh every hour.

How dou you convert joules to watts?

Joule is a unit of energy, watt is a unit of power. Power is energy per time unit. In a way, those are incompatible units, but if you know in what time you spend a certain amount of Joule, you can convert to Watt, and vice versa. For example, if you use 200 Joule in 2 seconds, that is 200/2 = 100 Joule/second, or 100 Watts. Or, if a light-bulb uses 35 Watts, that is 35 Joules every second, so in an hour it will use 35 x 3600 = 126000 Joules, or 126 KJ.

What is the equation of converting horsepower to joule?

Horsepower is a unit of power, but joules is a unit of energy. To convert horsepower to joules, you need an additional time parameter. One horsepower is about 745.7 watts. So a horsepower-hour is 745.7 watt-hours. One watt-hour is 3600 joules. A horsepower-hour is then 745.7 times 3600 = 2684520 joules.

How many watts per hour to equal 1000 btu's?

The energy unit is not watts per hour, but watts times hour, simply called watt-hours.One BTU is equal to about 1055 Joules or Watt-seconds; that is about 0.293 watt-hours. How many units per hour utilized by a 45kw motor?

watt (w) means joules per second. kW (kilowatts) means thousands of joules per second. Multiply that by 3600 to get the joules used per hour.

How much energy is used by a streetlight per hour?

Yes, that's the question. A 1000 Watt light uses... 1000 Watts. A 500 Watt light uses, you guessed it... 500 watts. It depends on the size of the bulb. ACTUALLY... Watts are a measure of power, Joules are the measure of energy - you can simply convert watts/hour or watts/second to joules but to say that a 1000 Watt light bulb uses 1000 watts is a ridiculous thing to say =D watts are Wh-1 or Ws-1

Calculate number of joules in 1kwh?

1 Watt = 1 Joule/second 1 kilowatt = 1000 Watts = 1000 Joules/second 1 hour = 60 minutes = 3600 seconds 1 kWh = 1000 (Joules/second) * 3600 (seconds) = 3,600,000 Joules = 3.6 MJoules

What is difference between Kilowatt power vs kilowatt hour?

Kilowatt is a measure of the rate of energy use. It is 1,000 Watts or 1,000 Joules per second. A kilowatt hour is 1,000 Joules per second for 3,600 seconds or 3,600,000 Joules. This means a Kilowatt hour not a rate but a measure of total energy used.

How many kw in a kj?

1 kWh is a kilowatt-hour, in other words 1000 watts for one hour. That is 1000 Joules per second, for 3600 seconds. So 1 kWh is 3,600,000 Joules, or 3600 kJ.

If a shaft is developing 25 watts of power per second how much work it can do in one hour?

"Watts per second" is not a unit of power."Watt" is a unit of power. It means 1 joule of energy per second.1 hour = 3,600 secondsTotal energy = (power) times (time) = (25 joules/sec) x (3,600 seconds) = 90,000 joules of work.

Do they rate watts by the hour?

in electronics, there is a term of Watt Hours used in power bills and things. watts itself is a unit derived by 1 joule per second. in order to get watt hours (which is just 1 joule per hour) you multiply your watts (joule/second) by 360 (60 seconds in a minute multiplied by 60 minutes in an hour). that will then give you units of joules/hour

1 watt hour equals how many watts?

1 watt-hour equals 1 watt times 1 hour, or 3600 joules.

One kilowatt equals how many btu per hour?

A BTU is about 1055 joules. A kilowatt is 1000 joules/second, so it is 3,600,000 joules/hour. Dividing that by 1055 joules gives you the equivalent of about 3400 BTU/hour.
