Best Answer

1) Find the prime factors. For example, 12 = 2 x 2 x 3.

2) Replace all repeated prime factors by a single copy of the prime factor, and an exponent that specifies how often the prime factor is repeated. For example, 2 x 2 x 3 = 22 x 3.
