The formula for circumference is
c=2*pi*radius
If you are given the diameter of a circle, you can find the radius by dividing by 2 because d=2*radius or
(1/2)*d=radius
When you combine those two formulas, you get the following:
c=2*pi*(1/2)diameter
which can be simplified to:
c=pi*diameter
Diameter = Circumference/pi
diameter = circumference/pi
You cannot find the diameter of something from its circumference unless it is a circle and, in that case, diameter = circumference/pi
Circumference = Pi * diameter
Divide the circumference by Pi to find the diameter.
Circumference = diameter(pi) so divide the circumference by pi to get the diameter.
Diameter = radius * 2 Circumference = pi * diameter.
circumference/pi = diameter
diameter*pi = circumference
Circumference: Diameter x pi (3.1415926535897932384...)
Diameter = circumference/pi
11 is a good approximation of the diameter. If the circumference is 35, the actual diameter is about 11.14 (35/3.1416).
