The equation to find the area is length times width times height. So lets say you length was 2 you width was 3 and your area was 183 you know 2x3= 6 then you just do 18/6 and you get 3 as your height.

if height= h width=w l= length a= area, then h=a(w*l)

(a would not be cubed in this equation)

That is so incorrect, it beggars belief!

First up, 183 cannot be an area but a volume - quite a different thing.

Second, if the volume were 18 units, not 183 units, then h = a/(w*l) not a(w*l)

Third, the approach to the solution is flawed.

The total surface area, a = 2*[h*l + l*w + w*h]

In this equation, everything but h is known, so substitute the values of l and w and you'll get a simple equation for h.
