Pythagorean Theorem works only with right triangles.

There is no way to find the third side given only the length of two sides. You need the angle between them.

E.G. Side 1 = 3 units. Side 2 = 4 units. Depending on the angle between them, Side 3 will vary directly. At 90 degrees Side 3 would be 5.

-----------------------------

Use the law of cosines. Suppose a and b are the known side lengths, the angle between them is γ, and c is the unknown side length. The law of cosines says that

c2 = a2 + b2 - 2ab cos γ

Take the square root of both sides to obtain c.

Is it true that the largest angle of a triangle is between the two longest sides?

Not always because the largest angle of a right angle triangle is between its smallest sides which measures 90 degrees

What is given two sides and the included angle?

The cosine rule which is: a2 = b2+c2-2*b*c*cosine A This is used to find the third side of a triangle when the two other sides are known along with the angle between them. Used when the triangle is not a right angle.

What is an ambiguous triangle?

The answer may refer to a triangle for which the length of two sides and the measure of an angle - other than the included angle - are known.

How do you work out the hypoteneuse side of an isosceles triangle if the triangle is not right-angled and two of the sides and the angle between them are known?

Use the cosine rule: a2 = b2+c2 - 2bc*cos A An isosceles triangle has two equal sides.

What is a triangle with one 90 degree angle?

A right triangle is a triangle in which one angle is a right angle (that is, a 90-degree angle). The relation between the sides and angles of a right triangle is the basis for trigonometry.

How do you find the angle of triangle if all 3 sides is known?

Use trigonometry

What is the angle between two sides of a triangle called?

The third wheel

If any two sides and any angle are congruent in two triangles then the triangles must be congruent.?

No. The angles must be an included angle, between the sides to guarantee congruence. For an example. imagine a triangle with two equal sides and a 60 degree angle between them and another triangle with the same two equal sides and a 120 degree angle between them.

What can you say about the sides of a triangle opposite the largest angle?

The side of a triangle opposite the largest angle is the side of greatest length. It is also known as the Hypotenuse.

What does an equilateral triangle look like?

An equilateral triangle is a shape with three sides of the same length, and the angle in between the sides is always 60o.
