How do you fine the leat common denominator?

• You first take your 2 fractions

(For example 1/2 and 5/7)

• Then you take the 2 denominators (2 and 7)
• Then you list about 10 or so multiples of each number

2- 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28,

7- 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63, 70,

• Then you find all of the common multiples

2 and 7= 14, 28, etc.

• Then you take the least multiple

14

• That is your least common denominator!

So the least common denominator of 1/2 and 5/7 is 14
