Yes it is, I use firefox with my windows 7 pro laptop and find firefox 8 very very good. I would use it rather then IE any day. For security download the addons better privacy,bit defender traffic light,ghostery and noscript. Dont use internet explorer or safari. Those are the worst browsers. I am currently looking for a browser like firefox but faster. Firefox's speed is good. If you want it to be faster when opening it then,firefox preloader is the solution. Also you should use personas to customise the look. Firefox is the most customizable browser out there. I'ts also one of the best browsers out there.
