Given the radius, the area of an circle A = πr2

Since the diameter d (which I assume is what you meant) is twice the radius, we can calculate

A = π(d/2)2

A = πd2/4

4A = πd2

4A/π = d2

√(4A/π) = d

2√(A/π) = d

(above, √ means square root)
