If you know the prime factorization of a number, you can find out the total number of factors.
Example: 210
21 x 31 x 51 x 71 = 210
Add one to the exponents and multiply them.
2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 16, the total number of factors.
You know that 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7 are factors. You need three more to get halfway.
2 x 3 = 6
2 x 5 = 10
2 x 7 = 14
Divide all those numbers into 210.
1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10, 14, 15, 21, 30, 35, 42, 70, 105, 210

Describe how to use a factor tree to find the prime factorization of a number. how do you know are finished?

All composite numbers can be expressed as unique products of prime numbers. This is accomplished by dividing the original number and its factors by prime numbers until all the factors are prime. A factor tree can help you visualize this. Example: 210 210 Divide by two. 105,2 Divide by three. 35,3,2 Divide by five. 7,5,3,2 Stop. All the factors are prime. 2 x 3 x 5 x 7 = 210 That's the prime factorization of 210.

How can you use prime factorization to know if two numbers are prime?

A prime number has no factors other than 1 and the number itself. If prime factorization of a number reveals one or more additional prime factors, the number is a composite.

Are there any numbers that are a factor of 16 cube number and prime?

don't know if I understand your question, but: there are no numbers that are both cube numbers and prime numbers 8 is a factor of 16 that is a cube number (2^3) 2 is a factor of 16 that is a prime number

What 2 prime numbers go into 75?

3 and 5 are the two prime numbers which go into 75. In order to know what prime numbers go into any composite number then prime factorization of the number should be done. Let us consider the case of 75, its prime factorization is 3x5x5. As we can see there are three prime factors out of which two are distinct(3 and 5) so, 3 and 5 are the only prime factors.

How do you know when you have found the longest factor string for 840?

You will know because all of the numbers are prime.

When all of the factors are prime. The longest factor string is the prime factorization.

What numbers are prime factorizations?

You can do prime factorization with probably every numbers. You have to be specific about the numbers you want to know.

What does the prime factorization of a number mean?

You can think of a factor as a number that divides another number with no remainder. For example, 3 is a factor of 6 since 3 goes into 6 two times with no remainder. Now if the factor is prime, then it is a prime factor. So in the example above, 3 is a prime factor. This is because the factor itself has only two factors, 1 and itself. 6 goes into itself also, but since 6 is not prime, it is not a prime factor. Now that you understand it, here is a more precise definition. A prime factor is a factor that is a prime number. In other words, one of the prime numbers that, when multiplied, give the original number.

What is a factor tree and how do youknow when a factor tree is complete?

When the bottom branch consists entirely of prime numbers.

Can you dint the prime factorization in 4.8?

When a factor divides into a number, the result is a whole number. That's how you know the first number is a factor. If you were to allow the result to be a decimal, then all numbers would be factors. It defeats the purpose. Prime factorizations refer to whole numbers, not decimals.

What is the greatest common factor of 4 and 60?

Method of prime factorization is the best method to find GCF of two or more numbers. It is useful for both small numbers and large numbers. But, what is prime factorization?Ans: Prime numbers multiply together to form the original number.e.g. 50 can be expressed as the product of primes: 50 = 2x5x5Arrangement of prime numbers is not important and 50 can be written as 50 = 5x2x5Prime factorization of 60 = 2x2x3x5Prime factorization of 4 = 2x2It is clear that 2x2 is the greatest number which divides both 60 & 4.So, GCF = 2x2 = 4Visit the links provided below to know more about Prime Factorization and the method to find out GCF.

What is a factor tree and how do you know when it is complete?

A factor tree is a way to notate the process of finding the prime factorization of a given number by writing the number at the top and breaking it down into factors on subsequent lines or "branches." The tree is complete when the bottom branch consists only of prime numbers.
