Divide the upper number by the lower number, move the decimal and presto, there's your percentage....example one eighth is normally written with the number one on the top and the eight on the bottom....try it on a calculator 1 divided by eight you'll get 0.125....move the decimal over two places to the right and you get 12.5%

You divide the numerator (top number) by the denominator (bottom number) and the multiply by 100. For example if my fraction was 2 over 5 (2/5), then I would do 2 divided by 5 to get 0.4. If I multiplied that by 100, I would get 40. This means it is 40%

Put the percent over 100 and reduce it 75% 75/100 divide each one by 25 and you get 3/4
