So if you wanted to do 2 times 1 half (1/2), you can say that you are multiplying 2/1 (since 2 divided by 1 is still 2) by 1/2. Now all you have to do is multiply the top numbers together and the bottom numbers together. Then you can simplify the fraction. 2/2 simplifies to 1. So 2 X 1/2= 2/2 or 1.
