If this is car wiring:
Wiring the power supply for an amplifier is the most often badly done portion of the install.
Many amps require huge power and need to be wired directly to the cars battery, many installers cause trouble at the battery by doing this poorly.
The connection at the battery must be made:
At the amp use a proper soldered to the wire connector.
The ground to the wire to the amp must be the same size, connector type and connected to a good chassis ground.
Oh god Good luck finding a good place to put it, never mind running wire to it.
Ensure the amplifier is turned off. Connect the positive (+) terminal of the 12V wire to the amplifier's positive terminal and the negative (-) terminal of the 12V wire to the amplifier's negative terminal. Once connected securely, you can then power on the amplifier.
Speaker wire.
Depends on the output of the amplifier.
Connect the sub woofer to the equalizer or amplifier. The positive wire will need to be connected to a power source. Connect the ground wire. Connect the auxiliary wire to the amplifier.
Amp always on
It is the amplifier enable - turn on wire. Basically if the radio comes on power (voltage) goes on this wire to tell the amplifier to come on. And the amp is under the driver's seat.
The earth port is also the ground or -
The wiring color code for an amplifier in a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder is blue or blue and white. This is the amplifier turn on wire.
In reference to a car stereo amplifier it is a term used to descibe an amplifier that that has only a single-channel output, meaning you can only wire a single speaker to it unless you wire multiple speakers in a parallel or series circuit. It is not recommended to use speaker wire for power wire for an amp. Speaker wire is not designed to handle the high current load required for powering an amplifier. It is best to use appropriate gauge power wire to ensure safety and optimal performance of your amplifier.
