Well, I always had problems with math from elementary right through to high school. It wasn't until college that I discovered what worked for me - I did lots of problems. In fact I did all of the odd numbered problems in the sections of the text book that we were working on (usually, the odd numbered problems have answers in the back so that you can check you answers afterward). I found that then I didn't have to remember anything, I just knew how to do the problems.

PEMDAS is used for math and is normally taught at a 4th-5th grade level. PEMDAS is used to remember the order of normally a 5th grade equation: Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction.

there are no 5th grade math terms but in Texas there is a taks test ( Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills)
In 5th grade you have the math, reading, and science taks tests but you only have to pass reading and math
