When you look at the numbers to the right of the decimal point, look at the number farthest to the right. If the number is below 5, than you simply drop it from the term. If the number farthest to the right is above 5, you add 1 to the number to the left. Thus 37.37 reduced to one decimal place is 37.4. It's called "rounding"
