Mutiply all terms in the bottom equation by 4:
4x-7y = -4
4x+4y = 0
Subtract the bottom equation from the top equation:
-11y = -4
Divide both sides by -11 remembering that a minus divided into a minus becomes a plus:
y = 4/11
Substitute the value of y into the original equations to find the value of x:
Therefore: x = -4/11 and y = 4/11
