To turn a percentage into a number, you have to know what the percentage is of. You divide the percentage by 100 to get a decimal and then multiply the decimal by the number the percentage is out of. For example, if we wanted to find 125% of 12: 125/100 = 1.25 1.25 x 12 = 15 125% of 12 is 15.
Say you had 750+-15. You would do 15 divided by 750 equals .02. Then multiply be 100 to turn it into a percentage and you get 2%.

You divide the number you want to find the percentage of by the total number present (and then times by 100). For example - if you invite 15 people to a meeting and 12 turn up, to find the percentage you divide 12 by 15 and then times by a hundred. 12 ÷ 15 = 0.8 = 80%

15 as a percentage of 60 = 100*(15/60) = 25%
60 as a percentage of 15 is 400% but 15 as a percentage of 60 is 25%

To turn a whole number into a percentage: Simply multiply it by 100%.
