One method is to factor each number, then multiply all of the factors - eliminating duplicates (factors that appear in both numbers).

Here is one example:

The numbers are (2x3) and (2x5).
The common multiple is 2x3x5.

Another example:
The numbers are (23x32) and (22x34x5)
The common multiple is 23x34x5. Note that for each Prime number, I chose the largest power.
How to find the Lowest common multipleyou get the set of you multiplesand you get the numbers that are repeated more than once and you lowest common multiple is the first number that is reapeated in your set. example 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 All the numbers that are in bold are the numbers that are repeated twice as you see, 10 20 30 40 50 are the common multiples. 10 is the lowest number of all the other multiples and so 10 is your lowest common multiple.
