I think using grams is better, because it may not come more than 5 kilograms
Since a baseball cap weighs less than one kilogram, using grams would better. For example 120 grams, as opposed to 0.12 kilograms.
grams are unit of measurement expressed using decimals, or Base 10. If you have 5 grams, then 5 is a real number in the decimal numeral system. A gram is a standard weight and the preceding 5 just tells you how many of those standard weights you have. you cannot convert grams to decimals, because grams are expressed using decimals.
1000 and 1/1000 (= 0.001)
Depends on what measurement standard you are using and what field you are referring to. It is easier tlo measure in kilograms because it involves smaller numbers. However, if you were studying astronomy, you would likely measure the dog in grams, or solar masses.
gram
734 kg = 734,000 g = 734,000 * 100 centi-grams = 73,400,000 (73.4 million)[using decimal point-notation]

3500
For a weight of a letter, grams would be the best unit of measurement. As the letter typically is small and doesn't weigh that much. Example of using grams and kilograms would be. Getting slices of deli meat you would get grams, and for roast of meat you would use kilograms.

Well, if you want a more measurement you would use kilograms because it is more size appropriate. For example, humans are mostly likely to be measured in kilograms and pounds. Using grams for humans would give you a gigantic number that you would not want to say every time you need it.
No. They use the Decimal Metric System (meters, kilograms, litres).
Milligram i a unit of mass or weight like kilograms, grams, kilojoules...

only one zero can be added using a decimal
