Press STAT and then select the first option, Edit.... If you do not see L1 and L2 and the top of the screen, press STAT, and then select the fifth option, SetUpEditor and press ENTER until the calculator says done, then start over.

Once you see L1 and L2 at the top of the screen, make sure there are no numbers under them. If there are, use the arrow keys to highlight L1 or L2, whichever one there are numbers under. Then press CLEAR and ENTER.

After you have cleared both lists, (L1 stands for list one and L2 stands for list 2), type all the x-values of the points you want to graph under L1, and type all the y-values of the points you want to graph under L2. Type a number and then press ENETER to get to the next line to type another number. Make sure that the x and y values for matching points are next to each other on the screen. If there are not directly across from one another, it will not work. You can use the DEL key to delete and numbers that shouldn't be there. If there is a number that needs to be changed, use the arrow keys until it is highlighted and then type over it and press ENTER.

Once you have all the numbers ready in L1 and L2, press 2ND STAT PLOT (above Y=). Choose the first option, which starts with Plot1.... Highlight On and press ENTER of On is not already highlighted. After type, highlight the graph that looks like a scatter plot and press ENTER if it is not already highlighted. Make sure that it says L1 after Xlist: and L2 after Ylist:. If it does not, move the cursor over what is there, press CLEAR, and press 2ND L1 (above 1) for L1 or 2ND L2 (above 2) for L2. The options after Mark: let you change the shape of the points that will be plotted.

Press 2ND QUIT (above MODE). Press Y=. Make sure that that Plot1 is highlighted at the top and that Plot2 and Plot3 are not. If this is not the case, use the arrow keys to highlight them and press ENTER to change weather or not one is highlighted. Only Plot1 should be highlighted. If it is not highlighted, it will not work. If Plot2 or Plot3 are highlighted, it also may not work.

Press GRAPH. If you do not see your scatterplot, press ZOOM and choose the ninth option, ZoomStat. You have just graphed a scatterplot!

If you get an error that says, DIM MISMATCH, it probably means that you have a different number of numbers in list one that list two. For every x value you enter, there must be a y values that goes with it. Choose the first and only option, Quit. Then press STAT and choose the first option, Edit.... and check your data. If this doesn't fix the problem, then go back through make sure you did all the steps correctly.

Press the "Y=" button and there are spaces to graph up to ten equations. For example, y1 = 2x and y2 = 3x + 5. If a line is not showing up, make sure the equals sign for that equation is highlighted. (Select the equals sign by moving the arrow keys and then press Enter.)
