We are all pretty good with our money.
When we spend it that is "minus". When we get more of it that's "plus".
Sometime we make a loan so the minus sits out to the side of our financial affairs and becomes a "negative".
I have $1 and somebody owes me $2 when they give me back the negatve two, it works as a plus for me and I have $3 in my hot little hand.
To subtract a negative, is the same as adding a positive.
Those double negatives cancel each other out.
The reason has for now slipped my mind, but to rememebr something like that just use this method: when two negatives are next to eachother, (the --) the second one carries over on top of the other to form a plus and then u add them. for example, 4--6=10
12
12 divided by 3 equals 4. Then, 4 times 3 equals 12. Finally, 4 plus 12 equals 16.
12
3 times 12 gallons equals 36 gallons.
3
b = 12 12(3)+3 = 39, use a calculator to find out
2 over 3 equals 8 over 12
36 36/12 = 3
15 plus -3 equals 12 12 divided by -6 equals -2
This equals 12.
-9
No. It equals a quarter (1/4). But the quotient of 12 and 3 equals 4.
