It's not possible for any public opinion survey to talk to EVERYBODY who has an
opinion. So you have to try and find out what EVERYBODY's opinion is, by talking
to only some of them. It takes some very sophisticated math to decide how many
are enough, and how reliable your conclusions will be from that many interviews.
