the time period of a pendulum is proportional to the square root of length.if the length of the pendulum is increased the time period of the pendulum also gets increased. we know the formula for the time period , from there we can prove that the time period of a pendulum is directly proportional to the effective length of the pendulum.

T=2 pi (l\g)^1\2

or, T isproportionalto (l/g)^1/2

or, T is proportional to square root of the effective length.

Which factor affects the period of the pendulum?

The period of a pendulum is affected by the angle created by the swing of the pendulum, the length of the attachment to the mass, and the weight of the mass on the end of the pendulum.

What will be the effect of time period of a simple pendulum if its mass is doubled and its amplitude is halved?

The PERIOD of a Simple Pendulum is affected by its LENGTH, and NOT by its Mass or the amplitude of its swing. So, in your case, the Period of the Pendulum's swing would remain UNCHANGED!

What effect does shortening the length of the pendulum have on the period of the pendulum?

A shorter pendulum has a shorter period. A longer pendulum has a longer period.

How does length effect the period of a pendulum?

A longer pendulum has a longer period.

What is the length of a pendulum with a period of 1.49 s?

pendulum length (L)=1.8081061073513foot pendulum length (L)=0.55111074152067meter

How does the bob affects the period of a pendulum?

The period of a pendulum is totally un-affected by the mass of the bob.The time period of pendulum is given by the eqn.T=2*PIE*(l/g)1/2 ;l is the length of pendulum;g is the acceleration due to gravity.'l' is the length from the centre of suspension to the centre of gravity the bob.ie.the length of the pendulum depends on the centre of gravity of the bob,and hence the distribution of mass of the bob.

In simple pendulum if string is flexible then what is effect on time period?

multiply the length of the pendulum by 4, the period doubles. the period is proportional to the square of the pendulum length.

How does the period of a pendulum change for length?

A longer pendulum has a longer period. A more massive pendulum has a longer period.

How can you increase the period of a pendulum?

Increase the length of the pendulum

How does the period of a pendulum difference theoretically with length for simple pendulum?

The period is directly proportional to the square root of the length.

What does the period of a pendulum depend on?

The length of the pendulum and the gravitational pull.

Does the length of pendulum affect the period of vibration?

Yes. Given a constant for gravity, the period of the pendulum is a function of it's length to the center of mass. In a higher gravity, the period would be shorter for the same length of pendulum.
