I'm sure it can and has been done, but it would be extremely difficult. First, if you are starving yourself the rest of the time, you may tend to seriously over-eat at the one meal. Also, if you eat small meals and starve yourself, your metabolism will reach a point where it will make it nearly impossible for you to keep up the effort. You will stop losing, and see-saw back to your original weight or higher. A much better way is to learn to stop eating when you think you feel full. Eat as often as you want, but only when you feel hungry. ...that kind of thing. Extreme diets almost always backfire. Yoyo weight loss is unhealthy and for some dangerous.
Answer
From what I know 1 meal a day may slow down metabolism and slow progress. I think it is more what you eat than how often. I have lost about 35lb in 12 weeks and wouldn't go faster than that. I eat all I want when I want.
Alot longer than it would take you to excersise it off.
If you weigh 215 pounds and fast for 7 days then you would lose several pounds. However, you would most likely regain weight once you started eating normally again. It depends on how long you go without eating fastfood.
