There will be corners and side cuts. Cuts around doors, vanities, kitchen islands, closets, etc. There is also the damage and waste factors. Tiles do break!
I have laid many floor tiles and I found it best to set up a floor plan drawing of the floor and account for all of the cuts before I start then add in 20% more for waste. It happens.
