First and formost, quality firebrick come in 2.5" x 4" x 9" and should be laid flat. Therefore the surface area wopuld be 2.5" x 9" with a staggard joint. At 22.5 sq in per brick, it would take 409.6 brick to finish the 64 sq ft of space. 64 sq ft of fire brick would be one big honking fireplace. Did you mean building brick? It does come in 4 x 8 x 2.5". Do the math.
