The first answer to this question comes from a contributor who is not only
offensive in his attitude, but wrong in his math as well.
The question doesn't say "5 square foot pieces". It says "5 foot square pieces".
From that terminology, we understand that each piece is a square, with 5-foot sides
and an area of 25 square feet.
It takes (400/25) = 16 of these pieces to cover an area of 400 square feet.
170m is a length. A square foot is an area. You cannot calculate how many lengths are in an area.
The area of a square or rectangle is the product of its length and width. The area of a square having sides 2 foot in length is 4 square feet.
Is this a trick question? a square foot is an area of one foot times one foot. 50 foot is a measure of distance. Not area.
foot (ft) - unit of distance square foot (ft2) - unit of area
Feet is a length or distance measure and square foot belongs to an area. You cannot answer this question.
A foot is a unit of distance and a square foot is a unit of area !

To determine how many nickels fit in one square foot, we first need to know the dimensions of a nickel. A nickel has a diameter of 0.835 inches. The area of a square foot is 144 square inches. Dividing the area of one square foot by the area of a nickel gives approximately 206 nickels per square foot, assuming no gaps between them.
The floor area is 130 square feet.
Area = 36*26 = 936 square feet.
1 square foot = 144 square inches. 3/4 square foot = 108 square inches.
m3 is the unit of volume, where as square foot is of area. There is no relation.
