(The 2006 model Pontiac GTO is what I used to get this figure)

(Car=100) If you use a one way street between every 1 row of vehicles...

(Street=150) With four feet of room between cars...

(Spacer=4X12=48) (100+150+48=298) One car will need 295 sq ft approx. (1000X295=298000) 1000 cars will need 298000 sq ft. 1 acre is 43560 sq ft. (298000/43560=6.84)

6.84 acres OR, for two rows of parking per street...

(298+100=398)

(398X500=199000)(2 cars per street so multiplied by 500, not 1000)

(199000/43560=4.55)

4.55 acres
