Briefly, a) neurons may be re-trained to undertake new tasks. and b) there appears to be evidence for the creation of new neurons.

A1. None. Your brain never produces new cells, as you're stuck with the same cells you were born with. They slowly (and indeed, very slowly) die off, one by one, over time, but they are not missed. It only has an effect on you when you are in your 70s or 80s.
