There are 6 possibilities for the first dice, 6 for the second and 6 for the third. This makes 6x6x6 = 216 combinations. However, some of these combinations are duplicates if the order of the dice does not matter. For instance, we have counted both 5,2,3 and 2,3,5. To eradicate these duplicates, we must work out how many there are for each combination. If a combination ABC has been considered, then we have also counted ACB, BAC, BCA, CAB and CBA falsely. Thus every combination has been counted 6 times when we only needed to count it once. To get the correct value, we must divide 216 by 6, to get the true number of possible combinations as 36.

How many combinations can you make with 7 letters that are arranged in alphabetical order with repetition from English alphabet?

The question contradicts itself. The order of the letters is irrelevant in a combination [though it does matter in a permutation]. So what is it that you are asking for? Combinations or order-dependent arrangements?
