In order to figure this you need to know how many cubic feet are in a ton of sand and we don`t have that, but there is a way around it. Typically sand, gravel and top soil etc. is sold by contractors by the yard or cubic yard. So look at it this way 7500 cubic feet divided by 27 cubic feet (3x3x3=27) in one cubic yard and your answer is 278 yards or cubic yards of sand.

First convert your dimensions of the sandbox to feet. 86 inches = 86 / 12 = 7.166 feet 45 inches = 45 / 12 = 3.75 feet 6 inches = 6 / 12 = 0.50 feet Multiply the 3 together to determine the total cubic footage required... 7.166 * 3.75 * 0.5 = 13.437375 cubic feet. Once you know how many cubic feet are in your sandbag --- call it X, you determine your needed number of bags by dividing 13.437375 by X. Hope this helps.
It depends on the moisture content of the sand (wet or dry) but as general rule of thumb there is 1.5 tonne of sand per cubic metre or to answer your question correctly 1500Kg per cube.
