This depends on your government or school district's requirements and also on the age of the child. Most places only require that you teach your children the same amount of information, how long it takes them to learn and understand this information may vary. (thats the beauty of homeschool- kids can learn at their own pace!)
Most of the homeschool families I know do school Monday through Thursday and then use Friday as a day to catch up on anything they missed or do field trips. (so it is still a 'school' day, but more relaxed) The younger grades may only take a couple hours to complete their work, but older grades will probably take several hours.
