Which 'Britannic' are we thinking of.????

RMS Britannic' of White Star Line (Cunard)

or are you confusing it with 'HMY Britannia'. (Royal Yacht).

Or is there another liner 'Britannic'.

The part of any ship , from the 'Water-line' down to the 'Keel' ( bottom of the ship ; the under water part of the hull) is the 'DRAUGHT'. The bit above the water line to the main deck is ther 'FREEBOARD'.

The front/sharp end is the BOW

The rear/blunt end is the STERN

The right side is STARBOARD (Green light)

The left side is PORT (Red light)

Be it inside/outside the ship you walk on the DECK

Inside the ceiling is the DECKHEAD

Inside the walls are BULKHEADS

Staircases are LADDERS.

The Commanding Officer is the MASTER (casually, the 'Old Man'), he/she goes by the curtesy title 'CAPTAIN Joe Soap'. NO such thing/person as a 'sea-captain'. His/her profession is Master Mariner.
