If both lines have the same slope and the same y-intercept, they're the same line. So, infinite intersection points, I guess.

Is a slope found by using any two points in the lines?

The slope of a line can be found by choosing any two points of that single line, not of multiple lines.

Jake and Erica were solving a system of equations They both noticed that the two lines had the same slope Jake said that because each line in the system had the same slope the two lines had to be t?

Since the lines have the same slope, they are parallel lines (there is not an intersection point), so the system does not have a solution (inconsistent system).

Do intersecting lines have the same slope?

Intersecting lines NEVER have the same slope. However, if the lines are identical, meaning all their points are the same, then they will, of course, have the same slope as well as everything else. On the other hand, parallel lines have the same slope, but they do not share a single point.

How do you find the slope at one point?

To find the slope, you must have at least two points, not one. You cannot find the slope at one point, because coordinate points do not have slopes - lines have slopes.

What word describes the slope of the line passing through points (5 12) and (5 -13)?

It would be a undefined slope. There are four types of slope:Postive slope (when lines go uphill from left to right)Negative slope (when lines go downhill from left to right)Zero slope (when lines are horizontal)Undefined slope (when lines are vertical)

What is point slope?

point of intersection

How does a contour tour map show whether a slope is gently or steep?

If the contour lines are far apart, then that indicates the land has a gentle slope (low slope).

How do contour lines show steep and gentle?

Contour lines are lines that join up points on a map that represent points on Earth's surface that have equal height. The distance between the contour lines gives an indication of how much the height changes over a horizontal distance. In other words it shows you how steep or gentle the slope is.As such a steep slope will be marked by closely spaced contour lines and a more gentle slope will have more widely spaced contour lines.

What are Lines having no slope?

Lines with no slope are horizontal lines or flat lines

Which type of lines pass through points (4 -6) (2 -3) and (6 5) (3 3) on a grid?

Points: (4, -6) and (2, -3) slope -3/2 Points: (6, 5) and (3, 3) slope 2/3 They therefore are perpendicular lines that meet at right angles

What type of lines pass through points 4 -6 2 -3 and 6 5 3 3 on a grid?

Points: (4, -6) and (2, -3) so slope is -3/2 Points: (6, 5) and (3, 3) so slope is 2/3 The lines are perpendicular to each other
