significant figures make data analysis less ambiguous and therefore much easier.. toindicatethe number of digits in a measurement
1. All non zero digits are significant numbers... e.g 12345, 12 ,3576 and all...! 2. All zeros between two non-zero digits are significant e.g 2007 and 9008...! 3. For numbers less than one zeros directly after the decimal point are not significant e.g 0.001 and 0.057..! 4. A zero to the right of the decimal place and following a non-zero digit is significant e.g 1.725...! 5. All other zeros at the left of a number are NOT considered as significant numbers e.g 0023...!
It isn't. For the same number of significant digits. Fahrenheit can offer more resolution, but that's a different thing.
Frequency is in cycles per unit time Wavelength is in length per cycle To convert between the two you need the speed of the wave - which for light is the speed of light - which is given in length per unit time Frequency = Speed of light/Wavelength For a wavelength of 469 nanometers Frequency is 639 Terahertz (THz) or 639,000 Gigahertz (GHz) ... rounded to 3 significant digits since the wavelength is only given to 3 significant digits
That depends a lot on what exactly you are measuring. With very precise devices, time can be measured to something like 15 significant figures; in most other cases, the number of significant digits is much less - sometimes only one or two, or even less.
All the digits are significant in this case. A zero between other digits is always significant, and all zeros after the decimal point are significant.
Five. All nonzero digits are significant and zeros in between significant digits are significant.
Five. All nonzero digits are significant and zeros in between significant digits are always significant.

Four - zeros between significant digits are significant.
to 1 significant digit: 8000 2 significant digits: 7700 3 significant digits: 7660 4 significant digits: 7656. 5 significant digits: 7656.0 6 significant digits: 7656.00 and so on and so forth for forever..........
It has two significant digits.
3 significant digits.
No, it has 3 significant digits.
